A Law Needed to Govern Mental Health Care

There is no federal law that requires psychiatrists to treat the biological causes of mental illnesses. That's why the APA gets away with providing nothing more than palliative care (drugs and talk therapy). This type of care was intentionally designed to treat only the symptoms so that patients don't recover.

In King County (Seattle area) the recovery rate for DSHS clients with a mental illness is just .0005%. From Seattle to New York and everywhere in-between, we taxpayers are paying about $2 million for each mentally ill patient.

The APA, NIMH, and Big Pharma work together to suppress orthomolecular medicine even though it is REAL medical care for mental disorders and costs pennies by comparison to drugs and talk therapy. It means getting medical lab tests ordered by one's family doc or naturopath. (Psychiatrists rarely, if ever, order diagnostic medical tests.) Treatment consists of nutritional medicine. Orthomolecular medicine is an integrative approach, meaning that tranquilizers or antipsychotic meds are only used if necessary. The difference is that the patient isn't left on these palliative drugs for life.

Orthomolecular Medicine has a track record of 90% recovery for illnesses caught early and at least a 50% recovery rate for chronic illnesses. Many of these psychiatric illnesses can be cured for less than $100 while we taxpayers currently pay $2 million for a person’s rent, utilities, food, drugs, ambulances, etc, which he needs for life because he was never allowed to recover.

(My psychotic and “mentally-ill for life” loved one recovered 100% because I fired the shrinks and found real (orthomolecular) medical care, from my family doc and naturopath.)

Jared Loughner was never given real medical care for his psychosis - he was only given the usual palliative care of drugs and talk therapy, an approach proven to not work. That is why Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and many others have been shot and that is why there will be more mass shootings in the future. We need to stop America's evil mental health care system - now. It is not only a racket, but a national disgrace that is surely making us the laughing stock of the world.
