A Living Wage For All Washingtonians

Washington state has led the way in workers wages. Now we see Connecticut has raised the minimum wage in their state to $10.10.
I believe it is time for Washington to once again take the lead in fair compensation for every worker. I call on Governor Inslee to raise the state minimum wage to no less than $10.10 and preferably closer to $15.00 per hour.
A $15.00 minimum wage would see a person only making $31,200 per year. This is still not enough but closer to a living wage than what we have now.

Why is this important?

Wages have been stagnant for so long it is impacting our economy negatively. People have no buying power as they can barely keep a roof over their heads. It is long past time for government to see to the welfare of the taxpaying public and their needs.
