A Megan's Law for Domestic Abusers

Currently, there is no means by which the public can obtain information about those who have been convicted of domestic violence.

Why is this important?

On average, 20 people per minute are victims of physical violence by an intimate partner in the United States and sixteen percent of mass shooters (2009-2015) had been previously charged with domestic violence. With a database similar to that of Megan's Law, people can see if their partners have domestic violence records and at risk domestic partners could begin protecting themselves by making informed decisions. Identifying domestic abusers, we can make our communities safer.
