Abolish Capital Punishment in Pennsylvania

In colonial and early United States history, Pennsylvania was in the forefront of prison rehabilitation and humane treatment of offenders. It is time for the Commonwealth to follow in that tradition and abolish the death penalty, a cruel and unusual punishment responsible for the deaths of many innocent individuals.

Why is this important?

Human rights demand the abolition of a penalty which is inflicted on racial and socioeconomic bases and often on those innocent of crime.
