Abolish the death penalty

States are discovering that life without the possibility of parole (LWOP) is a much more effective means of deterring and punishing hardened criminals than the death penalty. Delaware needs to join other states leading the way in abolishing our capital punishment laws and replacing them with LWOP.

Why is this important?

There is growing support across the nation for abolishing our archaic death penalty laws, replacing them with life without the possibility of parole. Delaware can be a leader in carrying the nation fully into dealing with dangerous criminals by more effective, cost-efficient means and eliminating capital punishment altogether. There are compelling reasons to do so based on economy, morality, practicality, and even theology.
