Completely abolish the antiquated Electoral College. It is time for election results to truly reflect the will of the people.
Why is this important?
Since our country has experienced elections in which the victorious candidate has lost the popular vote and yet won the Electoral College, it seems that the voice of the majority of Americans is not heard.
Most recently, in 2000, Vice Priesident Albert Gore was denied the presidency in such a manner. Few would disagree that our country would be far better had he been elected.
The Electoral College seems to favor the least populous (red) states, and it is time to show the world that we are a true democracy by simply doing away with this antiquated system.
