In 2000 and now again in 2016, the majority of Americans picked a candidate with a platform on which we agreed, but the candidate and platform we did not pick has been forced upon us. We demand to be free from the tyranny of the Electoral College once and for all.
Why is this important?
When the will of the American majority is forcefully ignored by an antiquated system, it is time to abolish it and adopt a fair voting system where our votes actually do count. If there is more than one candidate running and the top candidate does not receive more than 50% of the vote, there should be a run-off vote between the top two candidates. This is fair. It is not fair or American to force the clear loser of an election upon the people.
