Abolish the Electoral College
Currently the Electoral College is a silly formality. The original idea — saving the people from a person unfit to be president — has been lost.
Why is this important?
You may be surprised to know that we have no constitutional right to vote for the President of the U.S. This is because the Founders created the Electoral College, originally designed to protect an ill informed public from choosing a person unfit for the office. In 2000 and again in 2016, the person the people chose to be president by overwhelming majorities in the popular vote, did not become president. This should concern everyone who cares about our democracy. It will take some doing to amend the Constitution, but let's get started. Let your representatives know you want one-person-one-vote.
