To many of us with NC roots, the Old North State seems to be descending into darkness...mean-spirited and short-sighted efforts by the Republican Governor and GOP-led Legislature come at a brisk pace. The Federal Government is offering health coverage for some 100,000 low-income North Carolinians at virtually no cost to the state. This expanded coverage will not only provide for a healthier NC but will inject millions and millions of much-needed dollars into our state's economy.
Why is this important?
The NC Legislature is poised to refuse tens of millions of federal dollars to provide health insurance coverage for 100,000-plus un-insured low-income people. Tell the Legislature and Governor that healthy citizens are essential for a healthy economy and to accept this money and expand coverage for those that need it the most.
