Achieve the state of the art in voter registration and participation
The American Revolution began with the cry, "No Taxation without Representation." Although Kansas achieved nearly 100% coverage in taxation this year, the election system barely turned out 40% of eligible voters. This betrays the cause of our Revolution. The state of the art in voter participation is a turnout of over 90%, achieved in the Ukraine, Rwanda, Angola, and Uruguay. Other states achieved far higher participation rates that Kansas did (e.g., Maine, Wisconsin, and Colorado). Kansas should not be third rate on the most important issue to our Founding Fathers.
Three actions would radically increase participation: 1) mail voter registration forms to all unregistered Kansas taxpayers; 2) mail ballots to all registered voters for each election; and 3) allow registration on election day at polling places to any Kansan who can produce proof of residence and a US passport, birth certificate, or Kansas driver's license. The cost would be a small percentage of what we pay in taxes each year. These actions would be patriotic and true civic service. Please do it now!

Why is this important?
The most important cause in the world is for people to have a say in their government. It is a disgrace that Kansas lags the state of the art in voter participation by over 50 percent. We can do better: let's make our Founding Fathers proud!
