President Obama should truly reach across the aisle by bringing Olympia Snowe, Richard Lugar, or Colin Powell into his new cabinet. This would enhance the diversity of the administration's inclusive umbrella and add invaluable experience to the team.
Why is this important?
The petition urges President Obama to add some of the best experienced politicians of the Party of Lincoln, the old Republican Party, to his cabinet. It would strengthen the concept of the Democratic umbrella and add to this administration's diversity. We need to act quickly as cabinet positions will soon be filled. I have a personal commitment to diversity as my late husband was of African and Native American descent. I am of Scandinavian and Dutch descent. Today we live in a global village where all races and ethnic groups who share common beliefs should unite for the greater good.
