That funding be made available to build the infrastructure to provide affordable high speed internet to everyone in this country who wants it. That no matter how rural or poor the neighborhood, the funding to end the digital divide and the opportunity to access high speed internet be made available to companies willing to build and provide Fiber Optic service to all the people.
Why is this important?
I live in a small rural neighborhood and have been told by CenturyLink that we will never have high speed internet because it doesn't make good business sense. I am tired of sitting in the library parking lot so my kids can do their homework, or I can upgrade my computer or access my health care. Having access to high speed internet is essential. Without funding, the infrastructure will never be built and include all of us.
