AG TOWERS AND T-MOBILE: Keep Port Washington Children Safe and Relocate the Manorhaven Cell Tower!

The cell phone tower on Pequot Avenue in Manorhaven, Port Washington is in danger of being turned on within 30 days. The 125-foot tower was constructed, despite community opposition, 10 feet from a family home with young children, without the “fall zone” required by all other municipalities. It is tucked into a close-knit residential area, mere steps from adjacent family homes. The adverse effects on the health and well-being of children who spend time in close proximity of cell towers is well documented. This is why other towns, such as the Town of Hempstead, have banned the construction of new cell phone towers within 1,500 feet of a home, house of worship, day care center, or school. Yet, the powerful antennas of the Manorhaven tower are sited in alarmingly close range of two nursery schools; two houses of worship; two elementary schools; and Manorhaven Beach Park and pool.

Why is this important?

Despite overwhelming community opposition, AG Towers and T-Mobile have been allowed to construct a 125-foot cell tower in a close-knit residential community. The towers sits 10 feet from the closest family home, steps away from countless other homes with small children, and in close range of schools and day care centers. After 3 years of fighting it in the courts, residents have been informed that the tower will be turned on within 30 days. Tell these corporations to keep Port Washington children safe and relocate the cell tower BEFORE IT IS TURNED ON!
