Alaska Lt Gov Denies Homeless Vet's Candidacy for State House

Alaska Lieutenant Governor Mead Treadwell's job includes the control and supervision of the Division of Elections, but says he had no knowledge of the process used or lack of evidence reviewed leading to Barbara Bachmeier's decertification, because she was homeless for the initial two months of the required one year residency. Treadwell must start doing his job, intervene in the decertification decision, publish the correct decision, and allow Barbara's name to appear as a District 13 candidate on the official ballots for the open legislative seat.

Why is this important?

LTC(Ret) Barbara Bachmeier was certified to run for the Alaska State House in the upcoming elections, but after her opponent filed a residency challenge, Lt Gov Mead Treadwell disallowed her candidacy, knowing that the decision did not include a complete review of all the evidence. After telling Barbara that he did not have any involvement with the decertification decision and pledging to look into the matter, Treadwell chooses to ignore all inquiries. [Some offices in Alaska state government, are not required to respond to constituent inquiries. Governor's office states this is not their problem.]
