Alaskan's to upgrade our companion animals to sentient beings
Alaskans are great animal lovers, but we have had some sad cases in the brutality of humans against some dogs that didn't deserve the violence that was brought against them. We need to upgrade their status so that they may get the care or justice that they deserve.
Why is this important?
We need to start addressing the violence that is prevalent in Alaska. This includes the violence against our animals. As we all know, violent acts on animals leads to the violence against humans which if intervened earlier we could reduce some of the violence in our domestic households, as abusers usually act out on the animals first to scare or terrorize the humans who live in the home. We are better than this and by upgrading our pets to being sentient beings, will enable more people and organizations to intervene before actual harm or death comes to an innocent animal due to humans being cruel and abusive to animals that can't or normally won't fight back. We need to take this step to reduce the on going battle of these acts of violence not being taken seriously.
