All Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates must have a valid National Security Clearance

Congress must enact legislation ensuring that every Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidate pass a standard security clearance by the same security agencies that currently vet all high-level employees. Approvals must be executed before a candidate's name is placed on the official Presidential ballot. A candidate should have the right to appeal a negative determination via the court system. These clearances should be periodically re-evaluated and maintained should the candidate win office.

Why is this important?

This is basic common sense. The American people deserve to feel as safe as possible against all foreign and domestic threats.
