Amidst the departure of Rev. Dr. Susan Newman Moore, we are left with many questions as to how we got here. We would like a congregational meeting to discuss accountability and change in our congregation that exhibits the inherent worth and dignity of every individual.
Why is this important?
1. What have we learned regarding church accountability to the congregation and race in the handling of Rev. Susan?
2. What must be done to respond to the needs of Rev. Susan and her separation from ASC?
3. What must be done to transition ASC to a church that has a policy/governance structure that is completely democratic and accountable to its congregation and embodies multi-culturalism among its staff and congregants?
