California should join the growing movement of states to allow physician-assisted suicide. We all know people with no hope of survival who live in constant pain and want to die. With physician assistance they could die painlessly rather than suffering helplessly while waiting for the end.
Why is this important?
I am part of the growing population of older citizens, many of whom have life-threatening illnesses. My friends and I are concerned that there is no legal way to assure ourselves of a painless and peaceful way to choose our own time of death.
