AMAZON SHOULD INVEST IN ITS EMPLOYEES AND THE COMMUNITIES WHERE IT OPERATES

We urge Amazon shoppers, and especially Amazon Prime members, to sign this petition requesting that the Company invest 10% of its profits and of top managers' bonuses in the following manner:

1) set up a fund for its employees--the disbursement of funds to be determined by Amazon workers--for purposes such as annual raises and bonuses for the lowest paid, interest-free emergency loans, a college fund for employees' children, etc.:

2) set up an annual budget to target the social needs of the communities where Amazon operates, with the purpose to develop affordable housing, provide free health care, offer cheap and reliable transportation to work, and offer free child care for employees.

3) if Amazon refuses to take on social responsibility as requested, the signees will cancel their Prime membership and boycott purchases on Amazon.

Once we achieve the target of 1 MILLION SIGNATURES, the petition will be delivered to Amazon.

Why is this important?

Amazon is one of the wealthiest corporations, and it's been attacked and criticized for its miserly employment policies.
We will continue to purchase from Amazon only if the Company makes big changes to the way they compensate and care for their workers, and if they invest a portion of their profits to improve the communities where they operate by supporting child care, health care, affordable housing, and transportation.
