Why is this important?
Dr. Simone Gold gained viral attention in July 2020, when she appeared at a DC press conference as the leader of this group and convened with the House Freedom Caucus. The Facebook Live made dangerous false claims with respect to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It was immediately removed from Facebook. But we can't let it happen again—she must be banned from Facebook.
Dr. Simone Gold is Suspect #21, a person of interest wanted by the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and for questioning by the FBI. She was among the insurrectionists whose actions have resulted in the deaths of at least 5 individuals.
We as a nation are mourning the unthinkable loss of over 350,000 lives, in great part due to the irresponsible disinformation being pushed by people like Simone Gold. She has become a fugitive and yet continues to recruit to her organization via Twitter and spread disinformation via YouTube. This must be stopped—she must be banned from both.
