Europe and many nations have better rail systems than the U. S. Anyone who's ridden a Eurail train and an Amtrak train can tell you how sadly lacking our passenger rail system is. Amtrak receives billions of federal dollars each year but runs primarily on freight rail lines and consistently runs hours late on most routes. Americans deserve and need a rail system which works. Let's demand that Congress get serious about funding a totally new system which would create jobs, save energy and make Americans proud.
