American Prosperity

Found a federal government agency whose purpose is to accumulate primarily private but some government funding to conduct an intensified program to develop non-fossil, renewable energy sources. Simultaneously, the agency would marshal the work force necessary to rebuild the existing and create new infrastructure: facilities to produce and distribute energy, highways, rail lines, airports, waterways, broadband Internet access, educational institutions, etc. Funding would be primarily from corporations, foundations and individuals who would benefit short and long term, and, secondarily, from taxpayers. The dual effort — energy and infrastructure — would solve our immediate unemployment problem and ensure our ability to compete and contribute globally, and to prosper long term as a nation. American corporations are sitting on trillions of dollars of cash. This proposal is a way to use it for their own and everybody else's benefit.
