Be it resolved, that corporate contributions to political campaigns are immediately prohibited in the United States and territories under its jurisdiction.
Contributions to political campaigns shall be limited to citizens of the United States, in the amount of one hundred dollars per person, per candidate.
Why is this important?
The United States was founded on the fundamental right of citizens to have a voice in their government. The Citizens United ruling has given corporations and individuals with huge sums of money a disproportionate voice in the financing of political campaigns, effectively limiting the First Amendment freedoms of individual citizens to participate in their government.
