We call upon President Coleman and the Board of Regents to demand an independent investigation of the failure to report child pornography at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Why is this important?
The University of Michigan discovered child pornography on a hospital computer that had been used by a resident physician in Pediatrics & Medicine in May 2011. The crime was not reported to local police until November 2011 after the Penn State scandal. Many university attorneys and officials were well aware of the discovery and failed to report it to police. The public must know who knew what and when. The appropriate people need to be punished. Nothing less than an independent investigation is required to satisfy the public's need to hold accountable those persons responsible.
