An open letter to President Obama

We spent a lot of money electing you and other Democrats. We spent hours and hours doing VR/Phone Banking/writing letters/etc. to get you elected. NOW you WORK FOR US, not the big corporate thugs and banksters that got us in this mess. We expect you to be tough. You have nothing to lose. They are school-yard bullies who don't know the word "compromise" or "mediate." Don't go into negotiations with them and their Republican lackies thinking you can all hold hands and sing "Kum Bah Ya." They are not our friends. Their goals are not the goals of the American people. They want no taxes or regulations. They feel no responsibility toward promoting the "common good." Fight for us. We need you to be our champion. Make no deals about Soc Sec/Medicare/Medicaid. Stop the bleeding of our resources with the bloated military/industrial complex. Stop waging wars to help our oligarchs plunder the earth. Help us overthrow Citizens United and Corporate Personhood and give us Public Campaign Financing. Give us back Sec 8 housing for the millions of poor people who need safe affordable housing. Restore our public school. Be tough about global warming. This is no joke. I want your kids and our granddaughter to inherit a livable planet. Stop letting the corporate oligarchs plunder our oil/natural resources, etc. We live on a small planet with limited resources. (watch "Surviving Progress" on Netflix) Create WPA types of jobs to get people back to work. Be our FDR. Tax the 1% heavily like he did. Regulate them. Restore Glass-Steagall. We, the planet and our children's future are depending on you.
