Animal Protection in North Carolina

Currently North Carolina has no laws to protect companion animals in commercial breeding operats that sell directly to the general public. The state legislature needs to pass the Commercial Dog Breeder Bill now.

Why is this important?

Despite numerous, recent high-profile cases revealing unacceptable and completely avoidable animal suffering at inhumane puppy mills in North Carolina, the state legislature has yet to pass regulations to protect dogs in commercial breeding facilities.Commercial dog breeders must be held accountable to humane standards of treatment, including stiff fines and penalties.
