Why is this important?
The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress ever passed. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of it. Right away, many states, including my state of Idaho, passed mandatory Voter ID laws, despite few incidents of voter fraud. This has disenfranchised entire segments of the population, including poor and elderly. Representative Simpson can help by cosponsoring this bill!
