Set Keehi Harbor Fee using DLNR rule 13-234-3

We are asking the State of Hawaii DLNR-Boating Division to postpone the proposed slip fee increase at Keehi Harbor ($13/foot) and apply the Hawaii Administrative DLNR-Boating Division Rule 13-234-3, which sets the price at $10 per foot, until another appraisal can be done.

Why is this important?

The new proposed harbor fees were based on a professional appraisal, but somehow there may have been an error. Setting the fee rate for the Keehi Boat Harbor to the same rate as the Ala Wai Boat Harbor (13/foot) causes concern. We think the fees for Keehi Harbor should be about $10/foot, to match the recently renovated Haleiwa Boat Harbor pricing of $10/foot, or Waianae Boat Harbor pricing at $11/foot. We are asking Hawaii’s Government leaders to encourage the DLNR-Boating division to apply the Hawaii Administrative Chapter DLNR Boating Division Rule 13-234-3 and set the price of the Keehi Small Boat Harbor fee at $10/foot until a ‘second opinion’ professional appraisal can be done.
