Currently, there is a vacancy on the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Since the untimely death of the Honorable Gary Lancaster, there are no African American judges on the Court. It is imperative that an African American candidate be considered to ensure that there is diversity on the Court. Racial equality is an important factor that must be considered. It is unconscionable that, in this region of Pennsylvania, there is not even one African American Judge on the Federal Bench.
