Deaths per year from drug overdoses have surpassed the number of deaths from automobile accidents. Many of these deaths could be prevented with quick responses from family, others who reside in an addicts household, Police and Emergency Medical Personnel.
Why is this important?
The United States is currently in a full blown prescription drug and heroin epidemic and Arizona has the 6th highest number of deaths. Arizona needs to step up its efforts to save lives by allowing the distribution of the drug Naloxone (Narcan) to non-physician adults who could administer the drug to quickly reverse the overdose.
