As Arizonans, we believe that our families deserve dignity, health, and opportunity. But the new federal budget bill—recently passed by Republicans in Congress—will tear apart the very programs that make our communities strong: Medicaid, SNAP, and so much more.
This is not what Arizona stands for or what we want. We deserve leaders who will protect the fundamental and essential lifelines keeping our families, neighbors, and local economies afloat.
We, the undersigned, demand our Arizona representatives fight back against these devastating cuts and work immediately to restore funding for critical programs. Put families first: Defend Medicaid, protect SNAP, and ensure every single person in Arizona has access to the care and support we need to thrive.
Why is this important?
Arizona was already facing a hunger crisis before the passage of the Big, Ugly Bill. Food banks across the state serve nearly 1 million residents—including children and seniors—who rely on SNAP to put meals on the table. Now, this bill will take away food assistance from hundreds of thousands of people and will cut Medicaid and health care coverage for more than 300,000 Arizonans—especially in rural areas, where hospitals may close and care disappear.
