Despite the Supreme Court ruling that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional, Republican governors are considering refusing billions in Medicaid funds that promise to insure millions of lower-income Americans without health care. Arizona's Governor Brewer is currently considering whether or not to implement the ACA. The court found that while the Medicaid provision is constitutional, the federal government cannot take away federal funds from states that refuse to open the program to more residents. By refusing to open the program to more residents, Governor Brewer will sentence many residents of Arizona to bankruptcy, unnecessary health problems, and, for those folks with pre-existing conditions, possibly even death. Please sign the petition and ask Governor Brewer to do what is right for the people of Arizona. Implement the Affordable Health Care Act in full!
Why is this important?
This petition is about saving lives in Arizona. It is about finally having the ability to obtain insurance if you have a pre-existing condition. It is about patients and doctors, rather than the insurance companies, making decisions that affect their health. It is about staying on your parents' policy until you reach age 26, It is about the ability to afford healthcare for those who have had no choice in the past.
