To: Governor Greg Abbott
Ask Greg Abbot to step down.
Ask the current Governor of Texas to resign his position on the grounds that he consistently demonstrates his unwillingness to support ALL of the people of Texas. As the former Attorney General of the state of Texas or as the current Governor of the state of Texas, he has fought or ruled against women's reproductive rights and marriage equality. He has placed religious activism and dogma above the rule of law and above the proper education of our children. He has supported the symbols of the oppressive and treasonous Confederate States of America. He has instructed the Texas National Guard to monitor the legal and not at all unusual training activities of the United States Army. He should not be the Governor of the once great state of Texas. We are Texans, but we are also Americans, protected by the Constitution of the United States of America. Texas should be governed as such, not as a sovereign theocracy.
Why is this important?
Too many of my friends, family, neighbors and myself are disgusted with being treated as though we are foreign invaders in our own state. He is at the forefront of attempting to disenfranchise as many different groups of people as possible. That is not what effective or just governance should be.
