Ask the Justice Department to invalidate voter repression laws
We the undersigned respectfully ask the Justice Department to investigate and invalidate - with great expediency - state voter repression laws that have been recently passed. These laws will forever change our expectations of true freedom in this country if left intact. The main issues to be investigated are as follows: 1.) Are these laws designed to repress the vote? 2.) Are fees for photo ID's considered a "poll tax"? 3.) Have some states purposely made it harder to obtain IDs? 4.) Can these laws really control voter fraud?
Why is this important?
Many states have passed "voter ID" laws to "curb voter fraud". There should be no law passed that would increase the difficulty of a legal voter to be able to cast his/her vote. There are very few cases of voter fraud reported in our ENTIRE Nation, and there is little if no evidence that leads even the most careful investigator to believe that any of these laws will "curb" the nearly-non-existent voter fraud. Also, there has been verbal acknowledgment by a Pennsylvania lawmaker that these laws have been enacted for political & partisan reasons.
