Stop confusing the people with terminology. Only NFA weapons are Assault Weapons. Semi automatics were never designed to be assault weapons. Pistol grips, bayonet lugs, folding or collapsible stocks, flash suppressors, and detachable magazines do not equal a Assault Weapon. It is the fully automatic fire that creates an Assault Weapon.
Why is this important?
Assault Weapons must be fully automatic to be termed Assault Weapons.
