Please ban fracking in California in order to protect our precious underground water resources that are used for farm irrigation and drinking.
Why is this important?
Fracking is a dangerous method of extracting natural gas from geological formations that has the potential to pollute ground water with harsh chemicals and leaking natural gas. Since ground water is a precious resource in the drought-prone state of California, it would be unwise to trade our ability to drink clean water for a short-term supply of natural gas for energy. For an account of the damage that is possible, see the movie "Gasland."
