Governor Martinez, you supported H.B. 51 (Previously H.B. 77 and H.B. 44) and committed to sign the legislation if it reached your desk, but unless you issue it, it won't be heard until the 2017 session. Please join New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence and bring H.B. 51 to a vote. This bill simply keeps guns out of unsafe hands.
Why is this important?
Right now a convicted felon, domestic violence offender or a teenager can walk into a gun show in New Mexico and buy a firearm....no questions asked. It is time to close the gun show loophole. Passing this bill into law will help keep our children, families and communities safer from gun violence!
