Ban Conservative Marriage in Maryland

Recently, North Carolina added a discriminatory amendment to their constitution that arbitrarily decides what kinds of families should be sanctified under state law. Conservatives in NC feel so threatened by the prospect of people being treated fairly under the law, regardless of sexual orientation, that they amended their constitution to reflect their regressive and prejudiced beliefs. Here in the state of Maryland we want to ensure this never happens. Please join us in signing this petition banning civil unions and marriages between social conservatives of the opposite sex.

Do you think that selecting people based on lifestyle preferences and preventing them from legally forming a family is ridiculous, prejudiced, immoral, unjust, and crazy? Yeah, so do we. That's why we started this petition.

By signing here I am affirming my belief that people who have socially conservative values should not be allowed to marry or form civil unions in the state of Maryland. I am urging Maryland state representatives to propose an amendment to the Maryland state constitution banning such people from entering civil unions or marriages under Maryland state law.

Why is this important?

Like the great state of North Carolina, we are selecting a segment of the populace and urging our elected representatives to arbitrarily ban their ability to be legally recognized as a family. Sign here if this outrages you, you want to prevent bigots from reproducing, or you believe that people should mind their own business and stop using government to legislate morality.
