Ban on assault weapons

Bring back the ban on assault weapons as the first step to making our children and our nation safer. This is not the government telling individuals what weapons they can own. This is the beginning of all of us making a choice to make our country safer and saner.

Why is this important?

There have been seven mass shootings in 2012, the most recent, the horrific murder of twenty little ones and eight adults at their elementary school. Our nation's children deserve better from the adults they count on to protect them. Their lives are not acceptable collateral damage in the bid to allow adults to own more guns.
