Ban on Housing Discrimination Against People with Prior Felony Convictions

Any businesses providing housing in the City of Fort Myers shall not receive a business license if such business prohibits formerly convicted felons (excluding sex offenders and those convicted of violent crimes) from said housing. The city council shall be authorized to pass an ordinance for the enforcement of the provisions set forth.

Why is this important?

I am starting this petition to ban housing discrimination against citizens who have been previously convicted of a felony. The people of Florida have spoken loud and clear that returning citizens should have the constitutional right to vote and have a human right to obtain fair housing. Please sign.
