All sales of semiautomatic mechanically chambered or gas chambered weapons designed for battlefield use, including but not limited to, M-1, M-15, M-16, AK-15 and 16, and AR-15, since 1914 by any person, wholesale business, retail business or internet business, including gun shows and private transactions, will be illegal in Oregon on January 1, 2017 and thereafter.
Why is this important?
This petition seeks to begin limiting access to automatic fire weapons of war in civilian hands. While these weapons are common, it is not in the public interest to increase their availability in the absence of citizen membership in a well-regulated military organization, as the Second Amendment requires.
