Ban Single Use Plastic Bags In Michigan

22 million lbs of plastic end up in the Great Lakes every year, effecting the waterways and wild life of Michigan. We need to do what ever we can to reduce that number in order to protect the environment, starting with removal of single use plastic bags.

Why is this important?

The Great Lakes are an important part of Michigan, providing water, food, and is a crucial part of the ecosystem for many plants and wildlife. Every year 22 million pounds of plastic end up in the Great Lakes, damaging our water ways and ecosystems, hurting animals, plants and people. We need to start doing our part to protect the lakes and everything they are apart of by cutting down the use of plastic in our state, which starts with the banning of single use plastic bags so that we can cut down the amount of plastic that ends up in the lakes.
