Ban the use of the very toxic and harmful neonicotinoid pesticides, which are decimating our bee population.
Why is this important?
A class of neuroactive insecticides known as neonicotinoids are destroying our planet's bee population. We ask for the United States government to ban the use of these dangerous pesticides, which are already banned in Europe.
These neonicotinoid pesticides are decimating our planet's bee population - as much as 90% in some places. If left unchecked, they could destroy our world’s ability to grow enough food to feed its population.
We call for the Obama administration, United States Congress, and the EPA to ban the use of neonicotinoid pesticides and protect our bees.
These harmful pesticides are also poisoning other animals, and the toxic effects are bound to affect human beings.
According to a study performed by the American Bird Conservancy, neonicotinoids are lethal to birds and to the aquatic systems on which they depend. A single corn kernel coated with a neonicotinoid can kill a songbird. These studies represent the canary in the coal mine. Who knows what the long term effects on our children are going to be?
Would you help protect the health of our children and the environment for future generations?
