BERNARDS TC: DO NOT ADOPT THE QUARRY RESOLUTION
Vote 'NO' on the proposed resolution to end litigation with Millington Quarry. It is NOT in the township's best interest to allow more truck traffic and contaminated fill to be dumped at the quarry.
Why is this important?
All residents of BernardsTownship will be adversely affected if the Township Committee allows more fill to be dumped at the quarry. The World Health Organization declared in June 2012 that diesel exhaust fumes are a human carcinogen more dangerous than secondhand smoke. Aside from that irrefutable evidence, the trucks themselves pose a danger to the safety and welfare of residents. Passing the resolution will allow 1 truck every minute, 10 hrs. a day, 6 days a week.
