Better Air, Lower Health Care Costs
Promote Cleaner Air for Everyone. Educate and Prevent Cigarette Use by Increasing Cigarette taxes by Three or Four times. Monies collected could go towards Reducing Health Care Costs and Educating Children who are at a higher risk to start smoking. Save Our Air and our Children's Future Health.
Why is this important?
To continue to create healthier, safer air to breathe it seems like a Basic plan to cut down the amount of Cigarette smokers. To Triple the taxes/cost or even Quadruple the taxes/cost of cigarettes would definitely encourage young people to think twice before purchasing cigarettes. As a long ago reformed smoker I realize how precious each and every breath is. Both my daughters took an active part in Cancer Prevention projects and one of them was employed by the American Cancer Society for over 4 years fighting for Cancer Education and Prevention. A more prohibitive taxing/pricing in cigarettes would also possibly decrease the number of packs consumed by those whom still smoke. We need to take an even stronger stand for cleaner air for us and future generations to breathe. The "extra" monies garnered by increased cigarette taxes/prices could be added to current Health Care Insurers to lower the cost of Health Care in America and also strengthen our Education in schools to Stop children from seeing smoking as a "cool", adult (?) activity.
