Make binding referenda a legally required feature of national electoral balloting, if petitions with sufficient signatures have been presented. Lawmakers will then be required by law, to follow the instructions of national mandate.
Why is this important?
Certain motivations of lawmaking, have moved well away from the benefit of the country and populous to the great benefit of lobbyists, large corporations and of the lawmakers themselves. The country suffers and starves, while our lawmakers (both Republicans and Democrats) say,"Let them eat cake." The banks, large and multinational corporations, who constantly whine for less taxes and governmental control (free market capitalism), then want to be "bailed out," whenever they get caught by their own bad policies. This is just a few reasons to start taking a direct control of "our employees" in Washington DC.
