The federally mandated high-stakes tests (‘SBAC' in Idaho) create harmful stress and anxiety for our children and drive good teachers out; plus, they create a whole new avenue for corporate profiteering—the corporate testing industry. Please OPT OUT of the SBAC testing this spring and for the future, for the benefit of our children and their teachers, and the improvement in the educational environment of our Blaine County School District.
Why is this important?
The brain research is in--children's brains learn and grow best in supportive, cooperative environments in which they can actively participate, not in demanding, competitive environments in which they must passively receive and regurgitate state-dictated knowledge. Their futures and the future of our society is at stake!
