Bloated Government
During these difficult times, We petition to cut down on the costs of running our bloated government. Cut congressional salaries and all benefts and perks by 20%. Cut staffing of all legislators by 25%. (This petition does not include maintenance personnel of either house.)
Why is this important?
Since trimming government spending is uppermost in the minds of our legislators, it is fitting that the trimming must start with them. Their salaries and benefits are way too large; limos, parking, inflated pensions and staff enough to populate a middle size city. Yes, the running of the government needs serious downsizing. It is a terrible drain on the American taxpayers. A 25% cut in salaries, benefits and staff may just go a long way in getting our nation back on it's feet. (This petition does not apply to maintenance personnel.)
