We call on the National Boy Scouts of America to end their ban on gay adults.
Why is this important?
The National BSA needs to remove the ban on gay adults in scouting. There is no reason for it. Scouting allows a boy who is gay to be in scouting, but as soon as he turns 18 he is no longer allowed.
Quoting BSA President, Robert Gates (5/21/15) the “status quo in our movement’s membership standards cannot be sustained,” He then called on the organization to end its ban on gay adults.
He also went on to say that the BSA would not revoke the charters of Boy Scouts Councils that defied the organization’s ban on gay adults, explicitly mentioning the Denver Area Council and the Greater New York Council
