Primary care physicians are now allowed to refuse to treat people based on their weight. This dangerous and discriminatory practice must be stopped before it becomes the normal standard of health care. Insurance Companies are not allowed to discriminate because of a pre-existing condition, why should doctors? Many existing life saving medications actually can cause weight gain.
Why is this important?
Primary care physicians are now refusing to treat overweight people. This is not only an outrage by itself but can effect anyone that needs medication for epilepsy, high blood pressure, arthritis, ms, depression, diabetes, and many other conditions where weight gain is a well known side effect of the treatment. Where do we draw the line?
